As I have read more over the last few days I think this may be worse than just a simple “turtle faced” Senator and the isolated case of a few “deplorable” white teenage boys.

Let me also say I am NOT even remotely a conspiracy theorist.

But, from my days as a certified cyber security person a few years ago (prior to 2016) I know that Russia runs what are essentially “hacker pools” (my term) as businesses. Rooms full of people who get paid to “hack”. The effects of this type of organized cyber attacking have been clear since the 2016 elections. Now, at least one segment of hacking does not need to be covert super skilled technical exploits. Just craft a highly targeted Facebook ad program with lots of seductive information to get the attention of your target group. This is not even illegal and apparently totally within Facebook’s guidelines because they seem to have little interest in solving the problem which would likely have a negative impact on revenue. If your targeting parameters are correct and very tight most Facebook users won’t even see the ads if they are not in the target group.

Now it appears that maybe there is an effort towards weaponizing many things including young white males with this “pseudo technical hack”. It would be beneficial for some foreign actors to create more chaos in the US. It is plausible that this could be one of many organized efforts by “bad actors” to now include young white males in an organized ad campaign. Not to create an “army” but to motivate small pockets of chaos that contribute to the whole effort to create a division in society.

Maybe genetics is also at play and there have always been “deplorables” and as a per capita percentage it is no different than any other time in history but the technology of recruitment has improved. This improved ability to “market” to a target group, and the atmosphere that “anything is ok”, as shown by POTUS, may have caused some groups to surface that had members who were more politically correct and preferred to stay hidden. Throw in the ubiquitous information flow out of the Internet and maybe there are no more “deplorables” per capita but the recruiting and reporting methods are so much better.

Wow. Think what the Nazi’s could have done with Facebook and Twitter.
