Holy crap Batman … I am not sure how we got here except for the thought that humans are extraordinarily flawed creatures. But it does seem Mother Nature has figured it out and has a solution. To borrow a phrase “Humans need Mother Nature but Mother Nature does not need humans”.

Recorded history is only about 0.00083% of the total timeline for planet earth (do the math yourself if you want). And it has only taken about 3% of recorded history to trash planet earth. Between predatory capitalism (as Umair has written) and the fact humans don’t have any appetite for somebody in leadership that can lead to a fix it is very unlikely life as we know it today (at least the good part) will continue after the next 50 years.

I am actually not sure most people truly think there is a catastrophe looming or if they do maybe their “god” will rescue the planet by magic.

I am glad I am pretty old. But I don’t want to give up so I am still fighting to try and turn over a few political offices in my state but unless many other people get engaged across the planet it is hopeless. The good news is my casual study of Zen and living in the now have me fully present for most of my waking hours so I have very little anxiety about the future … and I will be dead anyway.
