I believe the Trumplicans are clueless that the slide toward the end of democracy will eventually also effect them. The rich will be able to delay their personal impact for a while and are willing to accept tax breaks for now and ignore the signs. The anger of the middle class and poor in the base simply just don’t understand that a metaphorical grizzly bear is just about to burst through their front door.
If you read this book (link below), that is a historical account of how democracy has been lost in various countries over the last century, it is clear EVERYBODY looses.
If you get all the way through the book you are likely to have a significant degree of terror as you see how many of the events that have happened here that have led to the destruction of democracy in other countries.
