I read this with mixed emotions.

Yes we allow kids in cages without direct any direct confrontation to stop it.

But yes the Democrats are doing something to stop the corruption of the current president.

And yes many Republicans still support POTUS who writes third grade letters to other world leaders.

And yes leaders of billion dollar social media companies profess to worry about lies being posted on political ads but yet do nothing about it … other than accept their paycheck.

And yes there is continued racist behavior by many humans.

And yes … the list go on, and on, and on …

But I propose this is NOT about Democrats or Republicans or Socialists or Conservatives or Fascists or Capitalists.

This is about humans … very flawed humans … humans that are consumed with greed for power, and money, and prestige, and anything else they can gather whether it inflicts harm on others or not. Humans that see injustice but are unwilling to take a stance against behaviors of other humans for fear of loss. Loss of power, loss of money, loss of their perceived yet false prestige.

Humans are also stupid. Very stupid. Now in Qatar some soccer fields are air conditioned because the air temperature is topping 115 degrees Fahrenheit. Qatar is the biggest exporter of liquified natural gas … guess what fuel they primarily use to provide the power for this new outdoor A/C system? Do you suppose this might add to the carbon emission problem which in turn adds to global warming which in term will require more soccer field A/C?

But the good news and the bad news …

And, without statistical evidence, I would propose this bad behavior is a minority of humans. Unfortunately those in the majority are not suited to fighting fire with fire. I don’t believe most of the Fascist take overs in the world were done by a majority of the population but done by those that have no regard for the rule of law and the descent treatment of other humans. But most of the empathetic majority simply don’t have the courage to confront the minority by whatever means necessary to stop them.

I would propose this a problem of humans in general. A problem that renders many of them unworthy to live on Planet Earth. And just as many people who live in rural Red State American still support Republicans and vote against their own best interests … Humans behave against their own best interests and are destroying their own welfare on many fronts including global warming. But Mother Nature will win in the end.

Beam me up, Scotty.
