James, I believe you are correct and the “Shining Beacon”, which 4–5 has attempted to hide, is now being uncovered again. It is a process and won’t happen instantly but I think it is starting.

The “mortal fear” being experienced by all, hopefully is and will continue to have an effect on some of the more moderate conservatives by “ripping off the bandage” that has temporarily “blinded” them.

I have said for many months that until people would arrive at a point of “mortal fear” many of the moderate conservatives would continue to be a victim of their own Cognitive Dissonance. To get their tax cuts they would ignore just about any other bad behavior from 4–5. Now that many are seeing reality a bit more clearly they will begin to recognize the overt selfish behavior of 4–5. It will happen due to their investment portfolio losses or their realization that their mothers and grand mothers have become a victim of bad CDC management. Not all the fault of 4–5 but the lack of a timely and thoughtful response is his fault.

I recently heard that about two thirds of the “experts” in many Federal Departments, like the CDC, are gone. A new POTUS can fix this problem but it will take time.

Maybe this will be a lesson learned and expose many problems and a new progressive wave will elect a new President, flip many seats in The Senate, and gain an even bigger margin in The House. If not then I guess those of us with hope will be wrong. If we are right then maybe we can repair these problems over time and make other changes needed for the future.

Sadly it has taken a pandemic, with far reaching human and economic costs, to “rip off the bandage”.

The next “bandage” will, again, be ripped off by Mother Nature as we begin to associate all of the additional hidden effects of climate change that go so much farther. The perception a few icebergs will melt and a little sea water will rise in South Florida will become only a fraction of the problem.

No matter how this pandemic works out the future will never be the same even if we mange to get our beacon to shine again. We will need it to shine it on many new problems that need to be fixed.
