My recent readings about fascism (so I can be prepared … envision me screaming) agrees with Umair’s essay here.

Patriarchy is one of the mechanisms that fascists use to sell, coerce, trick, and force people to adopt many of their tenants … one being patriotism … or if you are objective a perverted form of patriotism.

This perverted patriotism, in my opinion, is actually a form of racism expanded to every human that does not look like themselves … generally a white person.

Patriarchy has lots of hidden elements they use to force their ideas onto others. It can also be used to push the idea that transexual women are a perversion and not a misassigned gender. Patriarchy is based on the idea of a strong masculine authority figure. A transexual woman is a male who has chosen a feminine identity. This is a patriarch’s worst nightmare so they flip their condemnation into a sexual perversion that is easier to “sell”.
