Some years ago I had a bit of a revelation as I began to look at the traits of various leaders I worked with and read about.

In 2003 I wrote this:

To paraphrase something we have all heard young boys say "You lead like a girl". As I have studied leadership styles and the differences between men and women it has become clear to me that there are many positive differences.

At the time I knew it was something I could see and feel but I was not sure why. Over the years the things you describe in this essay became things I looked for in leaders for both men and women.

Ah ... where would the world be today if women and feminine leadership styles had been nurtured and revered over the course of history. Climate change, racial discrimination, misogyny, and more issues might not be as prevalent.
