The human spirit can be very amazing.

Sometimes people give up and it results in tragedy. Sometimes they get knocked down and then come back and accomplish things you never thought possible.

I would agree with Evelyn … It appears from some of your writing your DNA has given you some of the same traits as you described in the story about your aunt.

Your name says something important. Steel is hardened to be tougher and if it is used on a knife blade it can be made sharper. It must contain an appropriate amount of carbon for the hardening process, which is done by high heat. Without enough carbon or heat the steel is left softer.

So those that survive the “fire” may have the equivalent of “carbon” in their DNA. They emerge from the “fire” better than before.

So … MS Tracy By Fire … The “fire” and the “carbon” in your DNA is your super power … may you stay sharp.
